About

We fit smart homes into houses that are already lived in.

Wavify installs home automation across Jaipur. Switches, curtains, climate, security and water tank control, all retrofitted into your existing wiring rather than tearing it out. We also repair what we install, on our own bench, here in the city.

Why only retrofit

Most home automation in India is sold to people building or gutting a house, because that is the easy version. The walls are open and anything is possible. It leaves out almost everybody, since almost everybody already lives somewhere.

Retrofit is harder to do well. It means working with the wiring an electrician chose fifteen years ago, in back boxes that are sometimes too shallow, on boards that sometimes have no neutral. It also means the job takes days rather than weeks, your family stays in the house, and if you ever sell up the whole thing comes out in an afternoon.

We think that is the version most people actually want, so it is the one we do.

The rules we design against

These are not marketing lines. They are the constraints we turn work down over.

Every wall switch keeps working. Press it and the light comes on, with no phone, no account and no internet. A touch panel counts as a wall switch. It is a physical control where your old switch was. What we will not build is a house where one tablet on one wall is the only way to turn on a light.

The house runs locally. Automations run on hardware inside your home wherever the products allow it. A broadband outage should cost you remote access from outside, not your lights, not your curtains and not your front door.

Standards first, and proprietary named as proprietary. Matter and Zigbee wherever a good product exists at a sane price, so a dead brand costs you one device rather than the whole house. Where we specify something proprietary, it says so on your design sheet along with what happens if that company disappears.

Published prices. Nobody else in Jaipur publishes what this costs. We publish working bands, with the exclusions listed next to them, A lower number with hidden exclusions is not a better price. It is an argument waiting for survey day. The published bands

We say no to unsafe boards. If we open a switchboard and find something genuinely unsafe, we will tell you and decline to build on top of it. That is a different problem from a missing neutral and it gets treated differently.

We repair what we sell, and what other people sold you

The standard answer in this trade when a touch panel dies is that it goes back to the manufacturer and you live with a blank board for weeks. We run our own service bench in Jaipur, so most faults are diagnosed and turned around in days and a repair costs a fraction of a replacement panel.

The bench takes touch panels of any brand, not only the ones we fitted. If your installer has stopped answering the phone, that is not a reason for a panel to stay dead on your wall.

It is also why we are comfortable recommending touch panels at all. We can stand behind one after the sale, not just up to it. How the service bench works

Who is actually doing this

Wavify was founded by Neeraj Gupta, an electrical engineer who spent ten years in the electricity meter industry before starting it. That is not a decorative line on a page. A domestic meter is a live, sealed, regulated box. It has to survive an Indian supply for a decade without anybody touching it. Ten years of that is ten years of seeing how houses are really wired, rather than how a drawing says they are. It is the same wiring we open on every survey.

In between, he mentored students through pre-medical and pre-engineering entrance exams, and he currently also consults for Porwal Health Care. We mention it because the alternative is a page implying this is a hundred-person operation, which it is not.

There are five of us. Two installers, a technical supervisor, and two people who will talk to you before either of the first three come near your house. The supervisor is the one who decides whether a board is safe to build on. That call is deliberately not left to the installer standing in front of it with a drill.

We have finished twenty-nine homes so far. It is a small number and we would rather publish it than imply a bigger one. It is also twenty-nine houses' worth of boards opened, and that is where the figures in our guides come from. When that number is a thousand, this line will say a thousand.
